And without exception, every single one of these things have left me with less capacity than when I started – and my new framework, The Three Capacities, explains why.
We’ve been trying to build capacity in all the wrong ways, which makes sense when you realize we’ve had the wrong definition of what capacity even is.
Capacity is not output. We are not machines. Have you noticed that when we try to optimize solely for doing more, we almost always end up doing less – and even when we increase output, the quality of our lives tends to go downhill?
That’s because truly increasing capacity requires us to redefine capacity first. It requires us to look at all three areas of human capacity (emotional, narrative, and change) and how they are either supporting each other or fighting against each other, every hour of the day.
When we try to keep them separated or keep leaning into the one that comes easiest, capacity declines over time in the exact same way as our bodies break down and get weaker as we get older without movement, strength training, and flexibility exercises.

May 18th: Day 1 — Live Teaching Call at 12pm MT I'll teach you my new Three Capacities framework, walk you through how to spot the loops you're already running, and help you pick an easy focus for the week, something that actually shifts your day-to-day experience. No “maybe some day I’ll feel better” vision boarding. Let’s set you up for immediate wins.
May 19th-21st: Days 2, 3 & 4 — Daily Loop Challenges Each day you'll get a short email prompting you to notice patterns that are draining your capacity with teachings for how to immediately shift what you’re doing to stop the drain and start to expand capacity. Ten minutes max. You'll have a Telegram community to share what comes up, because doing this witnessed is part of how it works.
May 22nd: Day 5 — Live Coaching Call at 12pm MT We close together. Bring what happened, bring what shifted, bring what didn't. We'll work it live, and draw for prizes! (some require being present, but not all!)
